Who we are
Passionate independent winegrowers, our estate has been based in Scherwiller, at the heart of the Alsace vineyards, since 1958, and handed down from father to son in the purest tradition. Ideally located on the Wine Route, at the foot of the Ortenbourg castle (12th century) and Haut-Koenigsbourg, our estate has gravelly or granitic soils.
We practise sustainable, integrated farming to maintain and enhance this heritage so that we can pass it on to future generations. We work with joy and simplicity to create unique wines from our own vineyard.
Our small, artisanal family production amounts to a few tens of thousands of bottles of authentic wines with real character.

Since 1958
1958
Originally a lumberjack, Gilbert Ruhlmann worked on the family farm, where his father was already making wine. By 1958, most of his production was already sold in bottles.
1962
In 1962, he settled in Scherwiller after his marriage. At that time, only 3 grape varieties were grown on their small farm.
The 1970s
In the 1970s, these lovers of the land specialised in winegrowing and built the current cellar.
The 1980s
In the 1980s, all 7 grape varieties of the Alsace terroir were grown on the estate, and in 1984 the first Crémant d'Alsace cuvée was produced.
The 1990s
During the 1990s, the vineyard grew. The elder son, Guy, completed his higher studies in oenology and took over the estate.
2000
In 2000, his brother Pascal joined him after his studies in viticulture. The acquisition of new plots in the Rittersberg and the Ortenberg made it possible to expand the range of terroir wines.
2014
In 2014, our passion was as strong as ever and the estate was certified Terra Vitis.
Today
The vineyard grew and was handed down to his sons Guy and Pascal, who carry on the tradition, today on a vineyard certified High Environmental Value.
